John and Shirley DeGrood took a big leap and opened their store in 1952. Their sons, Steve and Joe DeGrood, would later take over the business in 1995. The store moved to it's current building to offer an even larger selection in 2005. Today, the store is still in the DeGrood family, with 3rd generation, Luke and Maggie DeGrood, taking over ownership in 2023.
